Equality and Diversity
Our Aim:
The Trust has a key responsibility to ensure that promoting equality and human rights and valuing diversity is central to all Trust policy-making, service delivery, employment practices and community involvement.
The Trust’s three-year Equality and Diversity Strategy is the first to be published by the Trust. It demonstrates the Trust’s desire to improve equal access to our services and the equality of opportunity in employment. The Trust’s Equality and Diversity Lead will monitor progress of this action plan in consultation with relevant individuals and groups.
Our Single Equality Scheme and Action Plans 2008 – 2011, ensure that Burton Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust has a robust framework in place to make sure that all of our patients, staff and visitors are treated with fairness and equity in accessing our services and in seeking employment opportunities regardless of their age, race, disability, gender, marital status, religious belief, ethnic background or sexual orientation.
Burton Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is committed to ensuring that equality, diversity and the promotion of human rights is central to everything we do.
