Privacy Policy – Trust Membership & Governors

Foundation Trust status gives us greater freedom to provide services in the most effective and practical way possible. We also have opportunities to borrow money to invest in improving services that meet local needs. However, we still have to meet national quality standards and be inspected in the same way as other hospitals.

As a Foundation Trust, we are required to have a sufficient and representative Membership and a Council of Governors. This comprises of both public and staff members.

Being a member is an ideal way of finding out about all the excellent work we do here at University Hospitals or Derby and Burton NHS Foundation Trust (the Trust) and gives you the chance to express your views on our services and any changes we plan to make to them. We currently have over 9,000 Foundation Trust members who can all play a part in our future.

Through our members and the Council of Governors, we listen and respond to the views of local people, patients and staff.
