Prevent is part of the Government’s overall counter-terrorism strategy, CONTEST. The aim of the Prevent Strategy  is to reduce  the threat to the UK from terrorism by stopping people becoming terrorists or supporting terrorism. The Department of Health has launched the Prevent strategy to support NHS staff in identifying when this is occurring with either  patients or members of staff who may be vulnerable to being drawn into terrorism, as well offering support and guidance for individuals. The aim of Prevent is to stop people from becoming radicalised or drawn into terrorism.

All staff have a responsibility to help us fulfill our obligation to minimise risks by identifying and supporting adults and children who may be prone to exploitation or influence from violent extremism.

If you are concerned that someone is at risk of radicalisation please contact the Trust’s Lead (Lisa Lamb) on extension 5313 or bleep 269.
