Burton Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust named as one of the CHKS 40 Top Hospitals for 4th year running

Burton Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is one of the CHKS 40Top Hospitals 2011. The 40Top Hospitals award is awarded to the 40 top-performing CHKS client trusts and is based on the evaluation of 21 indicators of clinical effectiveness, health outcomes, efficiency, patient experience and quality of care1.
The winners were announced at an awards ceremony held in London and hosted by CHKS, the UK's leading independent provider of healthcare intelligence and quality improvement services.
Helen Ashley, Chief Executive, said: "We are always looking to improve upon the high quality of care that we offer all patients so it is fantastic to be formally recognised for our efforts. We feel it is a tribute to the hard work and dedication of all our staff who strive to deliver excellence in every aspect of their work for the benefit of patients.
"Following the achievements in the previous three years, our appearance in this year's list shows once again that we continue to provide the highest quality of services."

Formed in 1983 as an NHS Trust and acquiring Foundation status in November 2008, Burton Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is the principal provider of acute hospital services for the residents of Burton upon Trent and surrounding areas including Tamworth, Lichfield, South Derbyshire and North West Leicestershire.
The Trust serves a population of some 260,000 and the total site covers 49 acres – 28 acres on the main site and 21 acres on the Outwoods site.
