Trust hosts national careers conference
23 November 2016

Staff at Burton Hospitals have welcomed junior doctors and their careers advisors from across the country as the Trust hosted a national careers conference.

The National UKFPO Careers Day provides guidance for those offering careers advice to junior doctors across the country and gives the many foundation level doctors attending advice and support on potential future roles, including academic and leadership, in the healthcare sector.

The conference will consist of a range of presentations and workshops with topics including the future of the NHS workforce, clinical training, careers in leadership and academia and GP recruitment.

Dr Magnus Harrison, Medical Director for the Trust, is one of the guest speakers on his role at Burton Hospitals. He said: “It is a real feather in the cap to host this prestigious conference. We’ll be welcoming aspiring NHS clinical leaders from a number of Trusts to Burton to help shape their career paths in the future.

“There are also a number of clinical leaders from local NHS organisations and beyond who are coming to host the talks and workshops. It’s also a privilege for me to be giving a talk on the role of a medical director and given the opportunity to showcase a lot of the great things we’re doing at Burton Hospitals.”
