Trust finalises sale of Margaret Stanhope Centre

Trust finalises sale of Margaret Stanhope Centre
14 March 2017

BURTON Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust has completed the sale of the Margaret Stanhope Centre site to Staffordshire County Council. The building will now be demolished with work beginning in April 2017.

Staffordshire County Council, in conjunction with partners, now plan to build a dementia centre of excellence on the site to improve the services for local residents living with the condition.

The sale of this land is part of the Trust’s work with our STRIDE partners to reduce the Trust’s estate footprint and meet our objective to ensure our site meets the needs of our patients and staff.

Peter Hunt, Head of Estates, said: “The Trust has worked closely with Staffordshire County Council and has been fully supportive of their plans for a new dementia centre of excellence.

“It is fantastic news that the sale of the Margaret Stanhope Centre site has now been completed and we expect demolition to commence next month.”
