NURSES will be highlighting the benefits of working for Burton Hospitals at the UK’s largest recruitment event of its kind.

Representatives from the Trust will be on hand at the prestigious Royal College of Nursing jobs fair from 10am-4pm on Thursday, March 2 and Friday, March 3.

They will be speaking to prospective colleagues about the wealth of opportunities available at Queen’s in Burton, Samuel Johnson in Lichfield and Sir Robert Peel in Tamworth.

The event will take place at the NEC in Birmingham and the team will be based on stand four.

Recruitment Manager Pippa Gardiner said: “We’re keen to speak to people who are dedicated to the nursing profession and who want to make a real difference to local healthcare in Burton, Lichfield and Tamworth.

“As a Trust we offer a range of development opportunities as well as rapid progression paths, excellent terms and a friendly working environment. In return for this, we want to recruit people who can support us in our aim to provide the best possible care for our patients. If you think this describes you as a person and as a professional, come and speak to us at the careers fair where we can explain the wealth of opportunities available to you.”

Specialist Nurse Sue Withnall, from Burton, has worked for the Trust since 2004. She started her career as a nursing assistant and, with hard work and support from Burton Hospitals, has seen her career progress.

She said: “I can’t thank the Trust enough for the on-going support and advice it has given me as well as the belief it has shown in my abilities. I could never have afforded to fund all of the education that it has enabled me to access and, thanks to that I am now able to provide far more complex care.

“There is nothing better than treating patients or giving them potentially life-saving advice and then seeing them a few months later and they tell you that they are feeling so much better thanks to your intervention. The sense of satisfaction and pride that I feel when I have made a positive difference to someone’s life is second to none.”
