A LEADING surgeon at Burton Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust has been invited to give a speech at a national conference which promotes the role of women in business.

Miss Jyoti Shah, a Consultant Urological Surgeon based at Burton’s Queen’s Hospital, will speak at the First Women Summit at the Waldorf Hilton Hotel in London on Tuesday 28 February.

The First Women Summit brings together more than 300 business leaders and professionals from across the country to explore key issues facing women in industry.

Miss Shah said: “It’s an honour to be asked to speak at the summit and it’s a fantastic chance to share my experiences of the NHS throughout my career. I think it’s incredibly important to empower women and help to inspire them to take on any role they want to in life.

“Not only is this a great opportunity for myself, it is fantastic to promote the Trust on a national stage.”
