Improvement works to Queen’s Hospitals bus stop turning area.

Burton Hospitals launch their Dementia 2020 challenge

Burton Hospitals has launched its Dementia 2020 campaign which will share essential information for Queen’s hospital staff and the public. 

The Dementia 2020 challenge sets out what the Government wants to see in place by the year 2020 in order for England to be the best country in the world for dementia care and support.  It also aims for the UK to be the best place in the world to undertake research into dementia and other neurodegenerative diseases.

Trust statement on BBC Panorama: Britain’s Sepsis Crisis

Dr Magnus Harrison, Medical Director at Burton Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, said: “Sepsis is an incredibly serious, potentially life-threatening condition, so early diagnosis and treatment is crucial. We are absolutely committed to training and awareness on sepsis and we have made significant progress in the last few years, now seeing screening rates of nearly 100% for patients, resulting in timely diagnosis.

A NURSE at Queen’s Hospital in Burton has been shortlisted for a prestigious national award by the Nursing Times. Sarah Minns, a Urology Advanced Nurse Practitioner, is a finalist in the ‘Nurse of the Year’ category for her work raising awareness of prostate cancer.
