Graham Lamb - East Staffordshire

Graham Lamb

I am retired and want to use my time to help the Hospital Trust to meet the challenges ahead. As a Governor I want to make a positive contribution to the transformation of the Trusts services and have personally have seen the benefits of closer cooperation with Derby Hospital when I fractured my cheek bone and was sent to Derby for surgery. As a Governor I am keen to understand the options for closer working across the area with an open mind but I want to ensure that East Staffordshire services are protected.

Before I retired I worked in Information Technology, on many major transformation projects across Europe. I led a programme to take an underperforming 500 person help desk to world class status in a year. From my experience of successful transformations and the lessons learnt from transformations that struggled, I believe I have knowledge that will be beneficial. The key requirement is to ensure there is a clear vision for the staff, patients and their relatives of how the Hospital Trust will change and I want to help by using my knowledge and communication skills.

I am a member of Burton Hockey Club, Lichfield Chess Club, Burton Chess Club and Burton Athletic Club, where I manage the veteran’s team, officiate and coach. recently I have taken part in the world masters athletics championships in Perth, Australia, competing in the 800 and 1500 metres.
