A range of procedures and treatments are available within the above specialities.

Treatments and procedures which are not suitable to be performed at the Treatment Centre are provided on the main site.

All the above services (including Ophthalmology outpatients) are for patients over the age of 18 only. Patients under the age of 18 are seen and treated at the main site.

Ophthalmology Outpatients

All non-emergency Ophthalmology outpatient appointments are offered at the Treatment Centre.

Referral Process

Your GP or Optician will be able to refer you to the Treatment Centre for an Ophthalmology appointment. The Treatment Centre team will process your referral and will send you the necessary information relating to your visit. Your Ophthalmology appointment will be at The Treatment Centre, not the main site.

Daycase Procedures

Your treatment may include a daycase procedure. This will be decided at your outpatient consultation in the main hospital, Ophthalmology department at The Treatment Centre or a consultant in a GP practice.

If you are medically suitable, your consultant will refer you to The Treatment Centre for your daycase procedure.

Initially you will have a pre-operative assessment, which is performed by a nurse who will go through your procedure details and will assess if you are medically suitable for daycase treatment/procedure.

If you are suitable you will be offered daycase surgery at the Treatment Centre (depending on the procedure) and a convenient operation date will be arranged with you.

If you are not medically suitable for a daycase procedure at the Treatment Centre your procedure will be scheduled at the main site.
