The Dermatology departmenthas 4 consultants Dr Peter Cartwright, Dr Samantha Beswick, Dr Nachappan Senthil Murali, and Dr Georgina Elston. We also have a Clinical Nurse Specialist, Sister Helen Jowett, a Senior Sister, Wendy Worth and two dermatology nurses, Alison Dwyer and Suzanne Bate.

The Dermatology department provides a fully comprehensive service dealing with most aspects of modern Dermatology. We have one stop clinics, phototherapy service, contact dermatitis investigations including photopatch testing, a rapid access skin cancer clinic running in parallel with the plastic surgery clinic allowing same day referral as appropriate.

We have a full range of treatments available including same day surgery in appropriate cases, plastic surgery expertise available, radiotherapy, which may be arranged at either Derby or Birmingham as appropriate and photodynamic therapy .

We also have Iontophoresis for hand and foot hyperhidrosis and Dr Beswick provides a botox service for axillary hyperhidrosis and Dr Murali provides a botox service for both axillary and palmar hyperhidrosis.

We do not provide a skin prick testing service except for possible latex allergy.

The Dermatology department works as a team and we are happy to be consulted on each others patients if the appropriate consultant is not available.
