Conditions Treated

This service is for hip and knee referrals. The following conditions are commonly seen within this service:

• Hip and Knee pain
• Degenerative and inflammatory hip and knee disease
• Post traumatic conditions
• Knee joint instability
• Troublesome or painful previous joint replacement

Procedures Performed

• Primary hip & knee replacement including surface replacement
• Arthroscopic knee surgery and Ligament reconstruction
• Unicompartmental knee replacement
• Patellofemoral surgery and replacement
• Revision hip & knee replacement

Suggested Investigations

X-ray of joint involved preferably before referral.
Hips require AP Pelvis (hips) and knees AP standing and lateral supine views.
Skyline patella views are important for patellofemoral problems.

Administrative Requirements

Please ensure that the patients’ demographics are up to date and complete. If the patient requires transport this should be booked by the GP. Please specify if an interpreter service is required and language / dialect spoken are in the referral letter. Please ensure that the patient brings to their appointment their current medication or a list of their current medication.
