Prick Tests

Prick testing is used to detect immediate type hypersensitivity. The only commercial prick test allergen we have is rubber latex. We do not do prick testing for hay fever. We only do prick testing for skin reactions.

Patients should not have taken systemic antihistamines for at least 48 hours before the test.
Readings are taken after 10 minutes.
