Introduction

Verrucous plaque stuck onto epidermis varying from skin coloured to black in colour. They are commonest on the face and upper trunk. They become more frequent with age.

Primary care

No treatment is necessary but can be requested for cosmetic reasons. Treatment:

Tick Curettage leaves a flat surface which heals very quickly.
Tick May also respond to gentle cryotherapy (i.e. freezing with liquid nitrogen)

 

Referral Advice

This condition should not normally be referred to secondary care unless there is doubt about the diagnosis.
