Hospital Volunteers

Burton Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust has over 200 hospital volunteers over three sites at:

  • Queen’s Hospital, Burton-on-Trent
  • Samuel Johnson Community Hospital, Lichfield
  • Sir Robert Peel Community Hospital, Tamworth

Hospital volunteers are welcomed in many departments and wards and they perform a wide variety of tasks to enhance the service provided to our patients.

The recruitment process is managed in stages and includes completing a volunteer application form, interview, two x references as well as Criminal Records Bureau (CRB) and Occupational Health checks.

The final stage before you can become a hospital volunteer is to attend a Trust Organisational Induction Day at Queen’s Hospital Burton.

Volunteers will be unable to start a placement until all of the above processes have been completed, the entire application process will take approximately 8-10 weeks.
