Foundation Trust

Burton Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust has been authorised to operate as an NHS Foundation Trust. This means that the hospital has greater freedom from central government control and the ability to ensure that it develops and delivers healthcare services that meet the local population's needs and priorities.

The unique change means that for the first time local people are being given the opportunity to have their say in how the hospital is run and to help shape its future development.
