Dr Mansoor Ahmed

Dr M Ahmed was appointed as Consultant Paediatrician with an interest in Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition at Queen's Hospital, Burton upon Trent in April 2004. His training in the field of Paediatrics has been in various hospitals in England and Wales with a particular emphasis on Paediatric Gastroenterology and Nutrition in addition to general/community paediatrics as well as neonatology.

Since his appointment, he has been pivotal in developing and delivering paediatric gastroenterology services locally. He has also introduced skin prick testing in the department and helped to develop children's allergy services locally.

He is honorary senior lecturer in medical education in the School of Medicine at Leicester University. He has strong research interest and is departmental 'Research Champion' for West Midlands-Medicine for Children Research Network as well as non-Medicine for Children Research Network. He is Undergraduate Lead for the department.

Nationally, he has been RCPCH Liaison Officer for International Paediatric training Scheme and an assessor for Certificate of Eligibility for Specialist Registration (CESR) applications in paediatrics. He is Membership of Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health (MRCPCH) examiner. He instructs on various paediatric and neonatal life support courses and safeguarding children courses nationally
