Genito urinary medicine

About Us

On 1st April 2017, the provider of Sexual Health and HIV Services will transfer from Burton Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (BHFT) to South Staffordshire and Shropshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust (SSSFT) and, as a result, some sexual health services will be changing.

The staff that currently work in the clinics may change and records of your recent care will be transferred to ensure we are able to continue to deliver effective clinical care.

The existing GUM clinics in Stafford, Burton and Tamworth will be available from the 5th April to people of all ages to access STI testing and treatment and these clinics will also provide contraception provision and advice.

The existing hub at Queens Hospital in Burton and some new sexual health clinic locations will be available from Wednesday 5th April – please visit www.openclinic.org.uk for further information.

All clinics will be closed on Saturday 1st, Monday 3rd and Tuesday 4th April 2017 to allow for training and clinical updates.

Pharmacies and GPs will continue to provide help and advice for anyone who wants to maintain good sexual health or is worried about anything. GPs will also continue to be funded to provide coils and implants. Emergency contraception will continue to be freely available in community pharmacies across the County.

We will however, be relocating to a modern, fit for purpose venue in Burton in the near future so please check www.openclinic.org.uk for updates!
