Spiritual Care

Spiritual & Pastoral Care Chaplaincy Support

“Supporting you in time of need”

Spiritual Care does not always mean the same thing as religious care. You do not have to feel you are a ‘religious’ person or to be a regular worshipper to make use of us.

The service is available to people of all faiths or none.

Our Multi-faith team promises to

  • Make time for you
  • Listen to you
  • Keep everything you tell us private
  • Not judge you
  • Respect you and your views

Members of the team visit wards regularly and are happy to listen and talk to you in complete confidence about anything you wish. We are here to provide additional support to patients, family and friends. We work in partnership with most local faith communities. We do not talk about ‘religion’ unless that is what you want.

If you would like a Chaplain to visit you during your stay, please ask the ward staff to contact the Head of Chaplaincy Services. A Chaplain is available at all times, day and night.

Your own Priest/Minister/Vicar/Faith Leader is very welcome to visit you at any time.

Sacred Space

The Multi Faith Chapel at the Queen’s Hospital is open 24 hours a day and you are welcome to use it at any time for prayer and quiet reflection. A short service of Holy Communion takes place every Thursday at 1.00pm. It lasts about twenty minutes.

Muslim patients and visitors are welcome to attend Friday prayers in the chapel at 1.15pm.
