Originally qualified in Edinburgh in 1996, then joining the army to work as a doctor.  Having spent time in Bosnia and Northern Ireland, he then started his surgical training based around Portsmouth while still working with the army.  He then spent some time working with RAF in Cyprus, before returning to the UK to undertake some basic science research in prostate disease, during which time he presented both nationally and internationally, and published a number of papers.

He went on to higher specialist training in Yorkshire, based around Leeds, gaining a broad base of experience, but particularly in functional bladder disorders, urodynamic assessment, and urinary incontinence.

Since joining Burton Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, his general urology practice has continued alongside a subspecialist interest in these areas.  He works closely with the urogynaecology team, specialist nurses, and has contributed to local pathways for management of incontinence.
