Profile

Dr Choules has been a consultant paediatrician in Burton since 1999.  He has wide experience in general paediatrics, community paediatrics, neonatology and child protection.  For several years he was lead paediatrician for respiratory paediatrics and worked to develop allergy management with the Trent regional allergy service.  He has worked as departmental lead consultant and College Tutor for the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health.  He is currently the hospital’s lead for paediatric neurology. 

Dr Choules has a background in medical education and has presented work at national and international meetings.  He has a Postgraduate Diploma in Medical Education and is Honorary Senior Lecturer at Keele University.  He is heavily involved in the teaching and training of junior doctors as Postgraduate Clinical Tutor for Burton Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and Associate Dean for the West Midlands Deanery.  

He has recently been appointed Associate Medical Director for Education and Training. 

Dr Choules is a member of the Faculty of Medical Leadership and Management.
